Wood and McDivitt wIn Four-Ball crown

Bayview Golf Club’s ‘happily disappointed’ pair of Gillian Wood and Ann-Maree McDivitt have taken out the 2016 NSW Women's Four-Ball Championship at Bonville Golf Resort.

The pair had a final round of +5 to win by 1, with a total of +9 for the tournament. Morisset's Gillian Mitchell and Sharee Bambrook finished as runners up with a +8 on a count-back.

“It’s surreal; we’re really excited. I think because we lost out on a countback (to reach the final), and then we came in just at the last minute,” the pair grinned.

“We just went out and had fun, we never expected to win, we were just happy to be here, it’s awesome,

Due to the late call up for the big event, the pair had to forgo a couple of club events and a special family celebration.

“I had to give up my round of golf on Saturday to get here, and our club presentation night was on Tuesday,

“Oh, and my son's birthday dinner,”

“We've happily disappointed everyone," they laughed.

The ladies intend to make up for their forced non-attendance at the functions with an impromptu celebration when they get back home to Bayview.

“We’ll go back to the club and ask for something special, Champagne, lots of champagne,” they laughed.
