Victorian Tim Wood has resisted strong finishes by Peter Senior and Michael Long to take out the 2008 New South Wales PGA Championship at Riverside Oaks on Sunday. The 27-year-old finished the tournament on 16-under and, despite bogeying the final two holes, finished a stroke ahead of Senior and Long who both ended up equal second a shot further back on 15-under-par. The $15,000 title is Wood&aposs first Von Nida Tour triumph. Brent McCullough finished in outright fourth position on minus 13 while New South Welshman Edward Stedman and Wood&aposs fellow Victorian Tim Wise both ended the tournament on 12-under. Brad Shilton, Dean Kinney, James Nitties and Tristan Lambert all finished in a tie for seventh spot on 11-under.
