Australians Timothy Wood and Michael Wright will be joined by New Zealander Josh Geary at July&aposs Open Championship in Turnberry. The trio qualified for the major tournament after finishing in the top three of the Australasian International Final Qualifying at Kingston Heath on Tuesday. Wood and Geary both finished equal first at four-under after 36 holes while Wright finished a stroke further back in outright third at three-under. “I don&apost know if it has sunk in yet,” said Wood. “I feel like I am going to wake up and say, &aposdamn that was a great dream&apos, (but) I qualified for The Open.” Meanwhile Wright was thankful to confirm his place at the prestigious event. “I was a lot more nervous this time around because I had to wait and it went down to the wire,” said Wright who had a much easier time of qualifying in 2006. “I&aposm really excited. The conditions were really strong this afternoon, especially when the wind got up, but it was one of those days where the putts dropped when I needed them to.” Cameron Percy and Peter Senior fell agonisingly short of a mid-year trip to Britain, both finished on two-under in equal fourth. Percy will be particularly aggrieved with his finish after he opened up proceedings with a pacesetting first-round five-under 67 before conceding a 75 in the second round.
