Tiger Woods has a commanding lead midway through the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open at the Torrey Pines course in California, while the Australian contingent is well out of contention. Because of the third round being delayed by fog, players completed that round and then made a start on their final round before play was suspended on Sunday because of bad light. Woods is 17 under overall and has a six-stroke lead at the head of proceedings, with his closest challengers defending champion Brandt Snedeker and fellow American Nick Watney. The former world number one shot a three-under 69 during his third round and has already picked up another three shots through seven holes of his final round to be in a perfect position to register his first victory of 2013. Snedeker, meanwhile, is already through 13 holes of his final round, while Watney has completed eight. Canadian Brad Fritsch is in outright fourth at minus nine, while Americans Luke Guthrie, Josh Teater, Erik Compton, Steve Marino and Casey Wittenberg are tied for fifth at eight under. Aaron Baddeley is the best-placed Australian at five under, while compatriot John Senden is a further shot adrift. Fellow Australian Jason Day has picked up a couple of shots to move up to two under and a share of 32nd place, while Scott Gardiner is two over for the tournament. None of the 87 players to make the halfway cut were able to finish their final round, with 15 holes the most any group has been able to complete. The remainder of the final round will be completed on Monday.
