Armidale Golf Club Superintendent Brett Woodward has added ‘Course record holder’ to his rapidly growing golf resume after shooting an impressive ten under par 62 around the New England District course in January.
Club Professional Andrew Walkley told Golf NSW with the course set up from the back markers, a decent score of two or three under par on the day was achievable. He didn’t expect a ten under par effort however.

“I played the course that day, and it was set up from the back markers for my monthly Walkley Cup event,” Walkley said.
"I thought I could see two or three under out there, certainly not ten under,” Walkley said.

Woodward told Walkley after the round that he didn't do anything out of the ordinary.
“His putter obviously went well, and he hit some good shots,
"The group ahead (of him) did tell me that he almost drove some of the par fours," Walkley smiled.

Walkley said the result underlines what an asset to the club Woodward,who is the reigning Australian Golf Course Superintendents Association Champion, has become.
“It’s a great achievement for Brett who is an excellent superintendent and a fine golfer,
“He already has a US college background, and now he can add a course record to his achievements,” Walkley added.
