Wooster and Jordan win Mid-Amateur titles

Australian Women&aposs Mid-Amateur Championship Victorian Sue Wooster won her third Australian Women&aposs Mid-Amateur title by one stroke after a final round 85 at Moonah Links Golf Club. Wooster finished with 80-85 (165) to hold off a strong finish from Queenslander Katrina Jones in second place. Victorian Kerry Henningsen was three strokes further back in third place. The first round was abandoned on Wednesday due to poor weather. Australian Men&aposs Mid-Amateur Championship Queenslander Damien Jordan shot a tournament-best 2-under par 70 in the final round to win the Australian Men&aposs Mid-Amateur Championship by seven strokes at Moonah Links Golf Club. Jordan finished with rounds of 73-70 to win his first Australian Mid-Amateur title. Victorian Richard Macafee finished in second place with South Australian Jason Cocks in a stroke further back in third place. Wests Tigers NRL player Braith Anasta finished in 24th place with rounds of 77-86. The Australian Men&aposs and Women&aposs Mid Amateur Championships have been played since 2007 and are for players aged 30 – 54 years.
