Sue Wooster (Vic) will head into the match play rounds of the Australian Women’s Senior Amateur as the number one qualifier at Maroochy River Golf Club.
Wooster’s three over par total for the 36-holes qualifying was nine strokes clear of NSW’s Kim Burke, and 2016 runner up Helen Pascoe (Vic).
New Zealand’s Robyn Boniface qualified five, while seven-time champion Sylvia Donohoe finished six.
Defending champion Jacqui Morgan (NSW) qualified in seventh position.
Wooster was happy with her form, and will play more aggressively going into the match play rounds.
“The qualifying rounds is all about middle of the greens, whereas tomorrow I’ll shoot more for the pins,” Wooster said.
The top 16 players qualify for the main championship draw, while 32 players qualify in four age categories.
The leading age qualifiers are:
New Age Division: Wendy Hergenhan (NSW)
Veterans Division: Shirley Van Der Brugghen (WA)
Super Veterans Division: Mardi Dungey (WA)
Super Veterans Plus Division: Brenda Chalmers (NSW)
