World Left Handers continues

The third round of the 25th World Left Handed Championship continued today in still conditions at Keysborough and The National – Long Island.

In the Seniors Division, Joseph Brogdon (USA) has extended his lead to 7 shots after shooting 81 today at Keysborough GC and is in a commanding position heading into the final round tomorrow. Australians John Doggett (VIC) and Tony Wilson (NSW) are tied for second.

In the afternoon, Keysborough played host to the Ladies, Super Seniors and Guests sections, where Geoffrey Ingram (New Zealand) showed his consistency with a round of 86 that now has him leading the Super Seniors by 15 shots after 3 rounds. Noel Bond (VIC) finds himself in second place and will have to pull out something special tomorrow if he wants to chase down Ingram. Frank Hunter (USA) had the best round of the day with 85 and shot up to 5th on the leaderboard.

In the Ladies section, local hope Johanna Wyllie has maintained her 4 shot lead heading into the final round with a score of 80. Second-placed Zhi-Ying Zhang (China) also returned a score of 80 and has continued to improve in each round this week. She will be hoping to continue this trend in her final round at The National – Long Island.

In the Open section, John Boulton (Australia) has blitzed the field again with his second sub-par round for the tournament. Boulton finished with 69 at The National – Long Island and has stretched his lead to 18 shots. Jason Leary (New Zealand) is in second place after shooting 74 today and is closely followed by Queensland duo Jamie Pitt and Drew Herbert.

Good luck to all players in their final rounds tomorrow. Play will resume in the morning at The National – Long Island, Woodlands and Spring Valley Golf Clubs.
