A great night, a great prize — and an even greater cause!
Melbourne’s X-Golf recently threw out the challenge to the growing number of golfers using simulators for competition and social golf to get behind Maddie’s Vision.
The name of the late Maddie Riewoldt, brother of St Kilda AFL champion Nick and cousin of Richmond star Jack, is leading the fight to find new treatments for Bone Marrow Failure and other syndromes that affect young Australians.
X-Golf events co-ordinator Grace Daniell hailed the inaugural Maddie’s Vision X-Golf Challenge a “great success” that raised $1375 for the cause.
The winners were Carl Smedley (A Grade), Leigh Alford (B Grade), Dean Dribbin (C Grade) and Billy Gowers (D Grade).
But aside from the glory on the night at Malvern, the quartet will get to play a money-can’t-buy round with Nick and Jack at nearby The Metropolitan Golf Club later this year.
Daniell said X-Golf would run more competitions with Maddie's Vision.
