Yang makes big move

Amy Yang is the big mover in the afternoon rounds of day two of the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open.

The South Korean player is three-under for the round through seven holes, and has jumped into a tie for fourth behind leaders Ha Na Jang and Lydia Ko, who have completed their rounds at six-under at the halfway point of the tournament.

Yang has strong Australian connections, having been schooled on the Gold Coast before turning professional and moving to America.

She won the Australian Ladies Masters as a 16-year-old in 2006.

Few of the other contenders are making ground on the leaders in the afternoon breezes, although Thai Ariya Jutanugarn (five-under) profited from a long eagle putt on the par-five 10th hole, leaving her just a shot from the lead.

Five-time winner Karrie Webb is treading water, two-over for the tournament through nine holes.

The 40-year-old Webb did provide one highlight with a  magnificent hole-out from the back bunker at the par-four sixth hole.

American Jessica Korda made a strong run but then dropped back with bogeys and the sixth and ninth holes to be one-under overall.
