Yarra Yarra to host amateur battle

Yarra Yarra Golf Club is set for the onslaught of the world&aposs best amateurs for the 2009 NEC Master of the Amateurs Championship which begins next Monday. Three of the world&aposs top ten amateurs head for the sand-belt including World number 2 Rickie Fowler from the United States. Men&aposs Dunes Medal winner Bryden Macpherson will be joined in the field by defending champion Toby Wilcox and amateurs from Japan, England, New Zealand and Asia Pacific nations. Brett Rankin, famous for replacing Adam Scott at The Australian Open in Sydney will also start at Yarra Yarra. The four round even culminates in the presentation of the “Green Jacket” to the amateur champion. The tournament&aposs opening round will pitt professionals against pros led by ambassador Peter Senior and 2007 Australian Open champion Craig Parry.
