Young guns fire at Riversdale Cup

Commonwealth Golf Club’s Daniel Gill leads the Riversdale Cup after rounds of 67-69 to be eight-under-par.

Overnight leader Dylan Gardner from Pelican Waters was a single shot back before commencing his round late this afternoon. The Queenslander’s opening seven under 65 included an eagle and seven birdies – all on his 21st Birthday – Happy 21st Birthday Dylan!

In-form Blake Windred performed well in round one with a blemish free five under 67 and is firing early with two birdies in his first nine hole this afternoon.

Other second round highlights from the Men’s event include two eagles from Alessandro Noseda from Switzerland on his way to a five under 67 and an albatross on the 13th hole par-5 from Victoria’s Anthony Majstorovic.

There are currently 13 players within four shots of the lead in the Men’s event.

In the 61st edition of the Women’s Riversdale Cup, defending champion Queensland’s Becky Kay is leading at nine-under-par after four birdies and an eagle in round one followed by a three-under-par 70 today. 

Currently in second place is current Vic Junior Masters Champion Min A Yoon at five under followed by Victoria’s Stephanie Bunque who had an impressive seven birdies in round one.

Following the conclusion of round two, the cut will be the top 25 females plus ties and the top 57 males plus ties.
