Yuan siblings win gold and silver at Youth Olympics

Bankstown teenager Kevin Yuan clinched the gold medal with a three stroke win at the Australian Youth Olympics Festival golf tournament at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club near Penrith. Yuan finished the tournament with rounds of 69-68-64-69 to be at 18-under par for the tournament. It has been a great experience being part of the Australian team. I m very excited to have won a gold medal and hope that it isn t my last, Yuan said. Great Britain s Ashton Turner finished in the silver medal place after a final round 5-under par 67. New Zealand s Compton Pikari finished in bronze position at 13-under par, two strokes ahead of Great Britain s Bradley Neil in fourth. Australian Brett Coletta finished in a tie for sixth while Australian team member David Micheluzzi finished in a tie for 13th place. In the women’s championship, Great Britain s Georgia Hall sealed the gold medal with a 1-under par 71 to finish at 6-under, two strokes clear of Australian Celina Yuan at 4-under par, who won silver. It’s one of my best achievements and I ve had a great experience, Hall said. It’s lovely to be with a team and couldn’t be happier with two gold medals. Over the week I played really well. Hall and her Great Britain team mates won the Teams Event to land a second gold medal. Hall s Great Britain team mate Chloe Williams also earned a place on the dais, winning bronze. Amy Walsh was the next best Australian finished in a tie for 13th.
