Media Release – Murray District Golf Association – 8/6/12 Zach Murray, one of the leading golfers in the Murray District Golf Association, is heading to Perth in September to compete in the School Sport Australia Golf Championships. At only 15 years of age, and playing off a handicap of 1, Zach has established quite an enviable record. He has recently been crowned the 2012 MDGA District Champion, the 2012 Commercial Albury Golf Club Champion and the 2012 Howlong Open Champion. Additionally, he has also represented the Commonwealth Golf Club in Melbourne as a member of their Colts Pennant Team that won the 2012 title. Zach displays exceptional natural ability and maturity and will no doubt go on to become a great ambassador of the game in the manner of our current home grown hero, Marcus Fraser. In order to assist Zach and his family with the financial impact of traveling to Perth, the Commercial Albury Golf Club have generously offered to donate all proceeds from a golf day to be held on Friday 20th of July. The fundraiser will be a Four Person Ambrose commencing with a barbeque at 11am and a shotgun start at 12 noon. Entry fee will be $100.00 per team and further details and entry forms are available at the Commercial Albury Golf Pro Shop. The Murray District Golf Association thoroughly recommends the involvement of the local golf community in the event and takes this opportunity to wish Zach the best of luck in Perth and in his ongoing career.
