The 2013 Regional Series champions have been announced following the final round held at Sandhurst Golf Club. A talented field braved the windy condtions at Sandhurst with Matias Sanchez posting the best score of the day with 3 under par. In the race to the Regional Series Cup, Konrad Ciupek from Victoria Golf Club held a narrow lead from Kyal Baart and Cameron John going into the final round but Ciupek scored a classy 1 under on the final day to take out the title on 6700 points, 1000 points clear of second place. Division A went to Kyal Baart from Rosanna Golf Club on 96 points, Byron Brightman from Waverley Golf Club won Division B on 115 points and with 130 points Cassidy Peters from Victoria Golf Club was victorious in Division C.
Ciupek has now won a trip to compete in the Srixon International to represent Victoria who are currently defending champions. Well done Konrad!
The Regional Series is modelled along the lines of the Fedex Cup played on the USPGA Tour. Divisional points and Regional Series points are allocated at each event, with bonus allocations for the 3 SAJG Regional Series “Majors”, which attract a bonus points allocation for each placing.
