Players that contested today’s pre-qualifying rounds for the remaining sixteen positions into the 2012 Men’s Port Phillip Open Amateur and shot 77 or better, qualified for the Championship.

Given the extremely high number of men’s entries received, all non-exempt men’s players on handicaps of one and above as well as some on scratch handicaps will have to pre-qualify for the event. The pre-qualifying round will be played at the Commonwealth Golf Club on the afternoon of Wednesday 12 December with around 80 players competing for approximately 16 positions in the starting field.
Should any male player not wish to participate in the pre-qualifying round on that basis, Golf Victoria will issue a full entry fee refund provided contact is made with the Golf Victoria office no later than 5pm on Friday 7 December. A draw for the pre-qualifying round will then be finalised and issued after that time.
Players that then participate in the pre-qualifying round but do not qualify through to the starting field of the 2012 Men’s Port Phillip Open will have $100 of their entry fee refunded.
All exempt men’s and women’s players should note that the draw for Rounds 1 & 2 of the 2012 Port Phillip Open will be available on Monday 10 December at 9am.
