The President, Board and Staff of Golf Victoria express their deepest sympathy at the passing of Mrs. Rosemary Wakeham, aged 87 years.
Rosemary was President of the Victorian Ladies Golf Union (later Women’s Golf Victoria) from 1989-1992 and was active across all areas of girls and women’s golf. Known for her devoted commitment to the game, Rosemary’s generosity and sense of fun endeared her to all in the golf industry.
A keen player in her own right, she was a member of the Victoria Golf Club for 63 years as well as a long standing member of the Golf Society of Australia.
Rosemary will be fondly remembered as a person of incredible character, commitment and passion for the progression of women's golf, in particular for the inclusion and advancement of junior girls golf and for the proud representation of Victoria at a National and International level.
Golf Victoria’s sincere condolences are extended to the Wakeham family at this time, particularly children Jane, Amanda and Richard and grandchildren Andrew, Briony, Alexandra, Curtis and Reid.
Rosemary was a wonderful person with a love for golf and will be sadly missed.
