Newcastle&aposs Nick Flanagan is eyeing a permanent berth on the US PGA Tour next after taking his second-straight victory on the Nationwide Tour. Former US Amateur champion Flanagan birdied the final three holes at the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs to close with a 65, and a total of 15-under, defeating Americans Nicholas Thompson (-14) and Marc Turnesa. (-13) More significantly, Flanagan now leads the Nationwide Tour money list, and with the top 25 guaranteed a spot on the 2008 US PGA Tour, Flanagan is set for the big time. In fact, should he win again, he would gain automatic entry to the 2008 Tour as a three-time winner. “Two-for-two is good fun,” Flanagan said. “I&aposm planning on playing the next three weeks, so hopefully I&aposll get another one soon.” “Hopefully I&aposve cemented myself in the top 25 now,” Flanagan said. “But better yet, this means I only need one more win. I&aposd love to go out and win another one and be able to play the last half of the year on the PGA Tour. This means I can just go out and have fun the rest of the year.” Flanagan also earns a BMW for his efforts, which will be the first car he&aposs ever owned. “I&aposve never owned a car,” Flanagan said. “This is a nice one to have as my first. My neighbour across the street would lend me his pickup truck when I first started driving. Since then, I&aposve been living out of hired cars for the past three years.” Of the other Australians, David McKenzie finished tied for 24th on six-under, Richard Swift 30th (five-under), Scott Gardiner 43rd (three-under) and Matthew Jones 60th (two-over). Kiwi Tim Wilkinson finished 55th on one-under.
