Our best girls ready to go at Nudgee

The 2008 Australian Girls&apos Amateur Championship gets underway in the New Year at Nudgee Golf Club in Brisbane, with one of the strongest fields in recent years. Australia&aposs number one and two ranked amateur women golfers are both competing for the Championship. Cecilia Nha, 17, from Gainsborough Greens Golf Club in Queensland, currently sits at the top of the National Rankings, and in her home state is sure to be one of the favourites. Jessica Noh from Ryde-Parramatta Golf Club in Sydney will be keen to spoil the party however, and sits at number two on the National Rankings. South Australia&aposs Samantha Holt is sure to take her experience as a South Australian Women&aposs Team Member into the Championship, while Elissa Orr from Victoria, playing off a scratch handicap is also a contender. New Zealand is represented by four players who will be keen take the Championship Cup across the Tasman. The 54-holes stroke play event sees over 70 of our best junior golfers fight it out to add their name to a trophy which includes the likes of Wendy Doolan and recently qualified LPGA Tour Member Sarah Kemp. The event commences on 9 January, and precedes the Australian Girls&apos Interstate Teams Matches.
