Josh Younger leads the Srixon Australian Men&aposs Stroke Play Championship by three strokes from the R&A&aposs top ranked amateur, Daniel Willett after posting a three-under 70 at Royal Adelaide Golf Club. Starting the day in a share of the lead with Australian team mates Matthew Griffin and Michael Foster, Younger pulled away from his competition to lead by four shots at the close of play on a day that tested a lot of the leading players. The Golf Australia/AIS National Squad member posted just the one bogey and four birdies, all of them on the back nine which was enough to hold off the world number one and current Spanish Amateur Champion. Willett begins the final round four adrift of the lead but two ahead of a logjam of players one one-under including fellow Englishman Chris Wood and West Australian Michael Foster. Former Australian Amateur champion Tim Stewart struggled to a five-over 78 after setting the course alight on Tuesday while defending champion Rohan Blizard was three over the card on the day. Overnight co-leader Griffin found the going tough as well; the Victorian battling his way to a five-over 78. The top 32 players at the close of Thursday&aposs final round of stroke play qualify for the Srixon Australian Amateur Championship which begins alongside the women&aposs championship on Friday at Royal Adelaide Golf Club.
