Sherratt storms into contention

South Australian Jordan Sherratt produced another record-breaking performance at Royal Queensland Golf Club, just weeks after posting a course-record 62 at Riversdale Golf Club in Melbourne. Sherratt fired seven birdies and 11 pars in a flawless course-record round of 65 that saw him leap from a tie for 21st going into the round, to second position and just a shot behind leader Daniel Beckmann (VIC). Beckmann slipped to a 2-over par round of 74 after his opening two rounds of 66. Jason Scrivenver (WA) was another to make his move, joining Brett Rankin (QLD), Victorian Bryden Macpherson and Scott Arnold (NSW) with third round 4-under-par 68 s. Queenslander and National Squad member Daniel Nisbet is five strokes off the pace with Scot Fraser Fotheringham.
