Steven Conran emerged as Australia&aposs best chance of victory at The Crowns golf tournament, as he closed to within three shots of the lead on Saturday. Conran carded a two-under 68 at the Nagoya Golf Club, to be within striking distance of third-round leader Shingo Katayama – whose one-under 69 took him two clear at the Japan Golf Tour event. Michio Matsumura is outright second on one-over overall after also hitting a round of 69, with Conran tied for third on two over. Level with the Australian is former leader Hideki Matsuyama, who shot a three-over 73 to lose his advantage. Brad Kennedy was the best Australian through two rounds, but hit a four-over 74 on Saturday to be five over and six shots from the lead. Kurt Barnes is further back in a tie for 15th, on seven-over overall.
