Weeks of speculation ended in 41 short words on Tiger Woods’ website.
"I'm playing in the Masters," Woods wrote.
“It's obviously very important to me, and I want to be there. I’ve worked a lot on my game and I'm looking forward to competing. I'm excited to get to Augusta and I appreciate everyone's support."
While it will do little to stop the golf world talking about how he will go at a course he once dominated, it at least moves the story forward.
Woods , 39, has played just 47 holes of PGA Tour competition since August and sidelined since February 5 when he withdrew after just 11 holes of the Farmers Insurance Open.
He has played in just nine PGA Tour tournaments since 2013 for a sum total of three missed cuts, three withdrawals, no tournaments played under par and a best finish of T-25.
And that’s not to mention his dose of chipping “yips” the last few times he has been seen in action.
Still, he’s playing.
We’ll find out the next lot of answers next Thursday.
