Best arriving at Royal Sydney

The world's best are arriving at Royal Sydney Golf Club to prepare for this week's Emirates Australian Open, the jewel in the Australian golfing calendar.

Major champion and 2014 Australian Open winner Jordan Spieth of the United States is already at the course practising after a few weeks' rest following the US PGA Tour playoffs.

The world No. 5 is playing the Open for the third consecutive year, having won at The Australian in 2014 and finished tied-second last year at the same venue.

World long drive champion Jamie Sadlowski also is on the course along with some of the best young talent in the country, such as US amateur champion Curtis Luck from Perth.

Spectators are welcome to watch the world class field for free today.

The $1.5 million tournament begins on Thursday and the course is in mint condition. Weather conditions are also forecast to be good, with delightful sunshine today.
