Professional
Australian athletes have had some great results recently, with some key highlights being:
• Minjee Lee won the LPGA’s LA Open and in doing so reached a career high world ranking number 2
• Scott Hend won the Maybank Championship, a co sanctioned event on the Asian and European Tours
• Maverick Antcliff won back to back events on the China Tour, the Bo Ao Open and Shenzhou Peninsula Open.
Many other Australian athletes have also had successful starts to their season on their respective tours.
Amateur
A team of six women represented Australia at the Women’s Amateur Asia Pacific at The Royal Golf Club, Japan. All six women made the cut with Becky Kay our highest finish at tied 7th with her tournament beginning with a personal and tournament low round of eight under par 64.

USA National Camp
Planning is also well underway for Golf Australia’s USA National Camp, to be held at The Woodlands, Houston from July 1-8. The USA camp allows many Australian athletes to connect with GA’s service provider network (coaches, physios, S&C etc.) and staff during their busy international travel schedules.
Not only can athletes check in and train with our service team, but culturally the camp plays a significant role in connecting Australian athletes with each other and with Golf Australia. This has a large impact on the give back culture the HP team strive for. Athletes in attendance will include our top tiered amateurs, USA college athletes, rookie professionals and previous rookie scholarship holders currently competing on professional tours.
Toyota World Junior
GA will soon announce a four man boys’ and three women girls’ team at the Toyota World Junior Championship to be held June 18-21 at the Chukyo Golf Club, Japan. The event is a 72 hole stroke play format with approximately 24 international teams represented in a high quality junior field.
