Women at Windaroo Lakes do Golf Month in style

Over 70 women attended a ‘Chip & Sip’ event at Windaroo Lakes Golf Club this week to celebrate Golf Month.

The event was won by a VIP team consisting of local councillors Laurie Koranski and Stacey McIntosh alongside Beenleigh-Yatala Chamber of Commerce President Karen Murphy and local residents Jodie Franklin and Kathy Simons.

The event summed up all that is great about Golf Month. It was a fun, nine-hole Ambrose competition and the course was set up with temporary tees only 100m from the flag.

The ladies were allowed to play in groups with their friends and one group had seven in the team, but the priority was to get lots of participants. Friends are more likely to play if they know they can play together!

Janine from the club drove around offering tips and topping up glasses – creating much hilarity! The day finished off with canapes on the deck, where the teams recounted the hits and misses from the round..

The countdown is already underway to the next event, which is set for Sunday 4 February 2018, whilst Swing Fit also hits Windaroo Lakes Golf Club on Sunday 22 October. It’s great to see a club getting women into our great game and having so much fun.
